Lanikai Beach neighborhood- an attractive buy

Lanikai, the popular enclave in Kailua,  at one time commanded a premium over Beachside Kalaheo in Kailua.  Both beach frontage neighborhoods, many felt Lanikai seemed more welcoming and prestigious.  Therefore the property values in Lanikai were always higher, but the tables have turned recently.  Whether it be because Beachside Kalaheo is where President Obama vacations or that people feel it is an easier walk into Kailua town, Beachside now commands a higher price than Lanikai for the first time since I can remember.
