We are so glad to see that more is being done to take advantage of our local resources to produce power.  I believe that this a renewal of an ongoing contract for testing.  If this is the case it has been ongoing for several years in Kaneohe Bay with great success.

A New Jersey company that is testing wave power off Oahu for the U.S. Navy has received an additional $1.1 million in funding.

Ocean Power Technologiesadditional contract award will support the testing and continuing upgrades of its PowerBuoy system about 100 feet beneath the ocean a mile off the Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe.
