Central Oahu real estate for sale including Mililani MLS listings

The Central region of Oahu is the area that sits between the Waianae and Koolau mountain ranges. This is at higher elevations on Oahu and so it is typically cooler and greener, yet it is connected by freeways directly to Honolulu so it is easy to get around. Some of the areas included in the region are Wahiawa, Mililani and Mililani Mauka.

Wahiawa is an older town born from the time that agriculture dominated Hawaii. Many of the field workers lived in Wahiawa that worked in the pineapple and sugar cane fields that were close to this area. There is a general hospital, Wahiawa Botanical gardens, and lake Wilson.

Mililani is another area which at the time of is beginning in the 1970’s was the largest planned community in the U.S. It is largely a bedroom community which houses different neighborhoods, each with its own recreation center and park. There is plenty of shopping including a Wal-Mart and a Safeway and many restaurants like Ruby Tuesday.

Mililani Mauka is a newer continuation of Mililani. There are many single family homes and town homes in this area and yet it is still an easy drive to many places on the island.
