Ewa is an area that is relatively flat and is where at one time sugar cane was grown. The area is definitely one of the more sunnier areas of the island and it is the region that is growing the fastest on the island. Ew consists mainly of 5 areas.

Although the vast majority of homes in Ewa are either new or relatively new, Ewa beach is the area that at one time was occupied by the field workers. Most of the homes which front in neighbors close to one area along the beach were largely built in the 1950’s. Now many of the beach homes have become small getaway cottages for families.

Ocean Pointe is a huge planned community by Haseko. The project won many awards for its mixed use style, efficient use of space and creating a more beautiful pedestrian atmosphere. The homes have nice floor plans and the typical Ocean Pointe home has a separate garage in back of the homes separated from the home by a garden. All of the parking, garbage disposal, and mail is all tucked behind homes to keep the front looking green and picturesque.

Ewa By Gentry is a series of neighborhood developed by Gentry Homes. There were a little more affordable typically and have more a traditional design with attached 2 car garages off of the front. Typically this allows for more usable yard space. Some home have many upgrades and are lovely.

Kapolei is our island’s second city (Honolulu, of course, being our first city). Many government offices are being moved or have sister branches in Kapolei to alleviate congestion in Honolulu. There are many shops here and the area is rapidly growing. The is a plethora of neighborhoods here that have many different types of housing. Town homes on the golf course, affordable homes near schools, single family homes with pools. This area has it all.

Hoa Ka Lei is the new development by Haseko which will connect Kapolei and their Ocean Pointe project. It is a massive undertaking which includes golf courses and installing a harbor. When completed it will also have a hotel. There are building some incredibly lovely homes and town homes. It will be a real destination environment. Residents will be able to walk to shopping and restaurants and it will be a beautiful resort community.
